After owning a "Samsung SP-H03" pocket projector for a few years (it has gone everywhere with me since I got it and used everyday), I must admit that I love it, but there is one issue: it doesn't have a HDMI connection! ...In the past, I connected my XBOX 360 up with VGA and PS3 through a 'VGA Box' with component cables, but I always thought that this worked perfect for me, until I recently came across this adapter for £10, so I took the plunge and bought it. ...And it's perfect!
<+The Good+>
-Instant digital to analog, with no fuss.
-No degradation in picture quality, colors and greyscale both remain solid.
-Male HDMI connector straight into device, acts like a VGA dongle which looks good.
-Audio out connector, sound quality through the output is perfect.
-Lightweight, good build quality and doesn't require a power supply.
<+-You must-+>
-Set your display resolution up to what your desired display will be compatible with using a real TV/HDMI monitor.
-Set your device to output 'Full 0-255' video levels (if possible) with an 'RGB Color Space'. If your device has a xvYCC mode, turn it on!
<-What could be better->
-This device doesn't convert 50Hz to 60Hz, which 50Hz isn't supported by some monitors. My display supports 720x576 @ 50Hz but not 1280x720 @ 50Hz, but I set my 'PS Upscaller' on my PS3 to off, but it could be handy to have anyway.
Overall, if you are short of a HDMI connection, this converter means one word, "Perfect!" I never could understand the different, but now if I revert to the "VGA Box", I understand why this dongle is better. So overall, it's worth it!
