Despite my last review saying this ipad was good i am retracting tht review i am very angry and disappointed iv had this for 6months and already it keeps freezing ..turning on and off everytime i use a tactic to fix it thinking its worked, to my dismay is hasnt!!! I am furious as to why people sell these items to people knowing they are faulty its disgusting ! I noticed it had been used or refurbished as i saw few bumps an scratches not very noticeable but i thought checks would of been made to make sure all is working .... guess i was wrong .... STEER CLEAR DO NOT BUY THIS IPAD!!!! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED !!!! i will be taking this further !

Sold by Veletronics. Display stopped working after a couple of weeks. iPad had been described as having a slight dent in the corner which did not affect functionality. Company offered to repair it, but the English in the emails was so poor I was reluctant to post it to them. I had it inspected professionally, the dent in the corner had resulted in a loose connection which makes the iPad vulnerable to even the slightest knock. Hence, although it can be repaired, the display is likely to malfunction again if it is knocked even with a case on with normal use. I would not trust this company's description of an item and would definitely not purchase from them again.

She thinks its wonderful, uses it for RNIB audio books as she used to be an avid reader. Was very impressed when it arrived promptly, very good packaging and looks like a new one, not a mark on it. A fantastic purchase and a great price.Highly recommended.

I am not a fan or an addict of Apple products; In my opinion, they are the play things of people who like be fashionable, appear trendy, or cool!
I have resisted buying an iphone, ipod, or ipad for myself so far despite lots of my colleagues brandishing one or the other of these. I am happy with my Samsung phone. An ipad does not appeal to me because some practical defects (e.g no USB or HDMI port)

However, I bought this for my wife as a christmas present (after much clamouring!) and I must admit that it is a well built tablet. Very sleek and does not feel cheap at all. Moreover, the OS just works brilliantly. We have downloaded several games and educational apps (mostly the free ones) for my 5 year old daughter and she really enjoys playing with this product when my wife lets her have it.

I think it is a very good tablet in summary even without the retinal display.
But it is overpriced!

Would I buy one for myself?
Maybe not now except they make one with the practical bits that I want. At the moment, the SAMSUNG Galaxy tab (latest one) appeals to me with all its practical features. I don't even believe I need a tablet for now (I have a 13" light weight laptop and can use my mobile phone as a portable wireless hotspot for internet access).

I will continue to wait till I have need for a tablet. But if you need/want one, this is a very solid product if you are not bothered about USB,HDMI, SDHC card ports e.t.c

This iPad 2 wi-fi tablet is perfect for me. It was an absolute doddle to set up. It came fully charged so you can get going straight away, adding it to my wi-fi netwok was just a case of typing in the network password. I set up my e-mail account very easily. All the info and directions I needed were on the Virgin website which made it a breeze. So off I went downloading loads of free apps from the store, searching the web etc. the batery life, I have found, is brilliant. My wi-fi has been on all the time, I have set everything up and searched for apps etc for two days and have only just had to recharge the battery. So I would say it lasts a very good 10 hours. The ipad is the best thing I have bought for ages. Safari opens immediately much faster than my laptop. The screen is big and bright, better than my mobile phone, and you can do so much more with the apps, much more than with android. As I said at the start.. Perfect!

Locked to US Postal Service employee; cannot be reset to factory defaults

This iPad worked OK for three years, but then Facetime stopped working. When we tried to reset it to factory defaults per Apple's advice, it asked for a username and password for a US Postal Service employee. After working this with Apple technical support, they concluded that we had been sold a "reconditioned" iPad that hadn't been reconditioned after all: it was formerly owned by the USPS, and customized by them in such a way that it is impossible for a future owner to factory reset it without a USPS username and password. Resellers should not be selling these products if they cannot be reset to factory defaults by the buyer.

For a silver surfer I found this a real step into the future. Luckily my daughter gave me an in depth 'course' on how it is used. I downloaded pages 9 & 10 from the I Pad maunal from the web (no wonder one is not with the I Pad at 197 pages). These 2 pages have the photo's front and back of the I Pad with all the buttons which I found a help. In time all will come together. There are so many I Pad's available the choice is down to the individual. The I Pad 2 does all I want it to do and I will no doubt find many more things once I get the hang of it. The service and delivery was superb and i would recommend the company.It never ceases to baffle me why poeople have to write an essay on a review. It is simply ludicrous other than they like to see their words in print.

Brought this for my husband as a Christmas gift to stop him from using my one! iPads have almost infinite possibilities and it depends on how you want to use them. At first my husband only used it to play games (chess, solitaire etc.,) and a bit of surfing but in few short weeks he has realised the potential and uses it for work related projects as well. He shares my Spotify account for music and loves his photography, he is delighted how gorgeous his photos look on the iPad. 16 Gb is quite adequate for his needs at them moment. I brought the TeckNet Folio leather case as well which I have reviewed seperately, but really pleased with it.
