I was actually looking for a Windows PC. I am not much of a Mac OS fan for day to day GUI use (for anything other than where Unix prompt is used). May be because I grew up with Windows. But from hardware point of view its the absolute best available. Hard drive is a bit noisy, other than that no complaints. A bit disappointed there was no refresh last year(2016) and would recommend waiting if you can for a possible refresh this year. Looked at AIO from Lenovo and Dell, Mac Mini and Think Center Tiny, before going with this. And I got the best of both worlds by loading Windows using Parallels. My only gripe with this (for that matter any Apple product) is the exorbant price that charge for memory and disk space upgrades from base model. Hey, I understand that is called pricing power in market economy.

Expensive but worthwhile

The iMac was expensive but 5k got me hooked. It's up and running now. Using Migration Assistant via Time Machine backup on my Seagate external hard drive, I was able to migrate from my old mac to this one relatively easily. At one point I did have some questions concerning my migratory route...Ethernet? Wi-fi? Time Machine, which is the easiest and quickest. I went to my local Apple store to seek answers. I have to say, those geeks there, don't really know what they are talking about. I was baffled by some of the answers they came up with. I found satisfactory answers on YouTube.

In a nutshell, I had an old intel Power Mac running Lion and since Apple no longer support upgrade to my old mac and OS I was finally forced to buy a new mac. But I can't complain, had my for just about ten years. If my HP monitor didn't died, I would have waited for another year or so before buying a new mac. That said, my old mac is still running well, save for some moaning and kicking when starting up. it still works. I think I will keep it as a backup just in case my iMac crapped out on me.

I will update you on my iMac, should expectation fell short in the next few months.

Not satisfied. The Bluetooth on the device stoped working after 2 weeks and in spite of my efforts with Apple support. It never worked again. My mouse and keyboards are ornaments.
To date I have not had an acknowledgement or a reply from Amazon... standard falling or comfort making customers irrelevant.. what next?
