This is amazing. When giving presentations at companies or teaching a class, I used to carry my computer, the brick, and a hand wand for my Powerpoint presentations with backup Excel sheets. For my classes and presentations they have the projection equipment, but some of it is old and doesn't take a HDMI port, so I had to pack adapters for my computer too.
With this little guy I take my iPad. Period. That's a 10-12 pound difference. I can do a 4 hour presentation on the battery life of the iPad with no worries. I tap the screen to progress the page, and if I have to cut to a Word doc or Excel sheet, no problems there either. Word, Excel and Powerpoint are free apps for the iPad.
Maintaining a professional look is so much easier when the briefcase doesn't weigh 20 lbs. Setup difference is huge. No power cord stretching from the side wall to trip over in classrooms. No fussing with propping the computer on a podium that's already filled with microphones and power strips (they always are).
I just plug into the projector's VGA cord, tap my Powerpoint icon and away I go. The audience oohs and aaaahs. They have never seen this take less than five minutes. Did I mention I speak on process improvement and using today's technology to hire contractors? Yep, that's my topic. And from the first moment I have their enthralled attention.

I use this with my iPad Air when teaching math at a local junior college. Plug it in and immediately your entire iPad screen is mirrored to the projector. I use the GoodNotes app for drawing, which also has the benefit of being able to show one thing on the screen while hiding your writing out something inside the app.
There's a lightning passthrough connector as well, so you can also charge your iPad/iPhone while using the adapter. Only negative is that the price is a little steep, but it's definitely a very handy thing to have for presentations.

I love this! I bought it from this seller because they offer the cheapest price, even though there's an added shipping. I love is when I use this to connect my iPhone 5s to my projector and give me a home cinema effect in my bedroom. It's good that it is designed to keep it connected to its charger to address issue on battery dying fast when playing videos. I like it a lot, and have no regrets in buying it. When I buy an iPad mini, I will be able to use it for that one as well, because they use the same adapter - lightning.

It is yet another adaptor for the Apple products; *however*, given the state of technology, this mobile (lightning) connecter is particularly useful (when giving presentations from Apple iPad or iPhone). I display our new Apps in Team meetings, Demos for potential clients, as well during conference presentations. I have not used Keynote yet, mostly due to PPT dominance at work.

If you have the iPad with the Lightning cable for charging, this is the cable you want to buy for VGA cables. I use the Smartboard in class and needed an adapter to plug the VGA cable for the projector. Of course the iPad 2 cable would not work in the iPad 4 even with that little extra adaptor. So, I found this vendor who was offering the item for a little less than Apple. To my surprise, the adaptor even includes with the VGA port a port to keep your iPad charged while using the VGA. Nice!

Wow, I didn't use to be a fan of Apple because their product were very expensive, but once I got IPhone 5S as a gift, Apple products are amazing! This device, the VGA adapter is for IPhone 5 series and connect your phone to a VGA capable monitor, which most monitor or TV have nowadays. It only transfer video without the sound. I got a 20 dollar blue tooth ear set from amazon and a 70 dollar small VGA monitor. It works perfectly. Also not connector has a slot for power so you can charge phone while connecting it to a screen. IF there is an App like youtube or game that goes full screen on your phone, the monitor will also go full screen and fill the entire screen. There is no lag. Although a bit expensive for just an adapter, but hey this is Apple, there is no other product substitute unless you want to buy a 100 dollar Apple TV box! Which is just a box adapter that accept signal from iphone or ipad and can be connected to an actual TV or monitor. Yes, it's called Apple TV but it's not a TV.

i use this for filming on my iphone, since i cant afford a dslr camera right now. i have a perfectly functioning monitor that only has vga and dvi ports, and this tool helped me be able to see myself during filming, while being able to use the back camera, which is always better quality than the front. i've been using this for about a month or so with no problems

Best thing ever! This is the best accessory I’ve ever bought for university. Every time I had a presentation I just had to plug it in to my iPad or iPhone and be ready to go.

Expensive but does the job which a lot of the non OEM items don’t. Plugged straight into my iPhone 7, connected an old VGA projector, hooked up a Bluetooth speaker and instant cinema! Very pleased.

Perfect. It did the job. From my very recent experience after this purchase,go ahead of time and check if the projector resolution will work with your iPad. If it doesn’t work,it’s not the connector that’s faulty but the resolution of the projector. Try on a different project. So head up early to the venue and try it out.

Good product but lacking some entertainment functionality

Good product, was hesitant about buying this at first because of the price but was on sale for £34.
The adapter does what it’s supposed to put be aware of black bars when using it on a monitor.
One thing I noticed is you can’t play Netflix or Disney plus through the VGA (says it’s because of HDCP issue) which kinda sucks but YouTube works perfectly fine.
