I’ve recorded a short tutorial which shows you how to scan directly from Image Capture into Evernote from within OSX. This avoids the need for complex Automator / Apple Scripts and works incredibly well. As I point out in the video it is worth increasing the scan resolution from the default 75dpi to 300dpi as this gives a good quality scan and keeps the file sizes to a tolerable level.
The top tip about dragging Evernote directly from the Applications folder was from this blog post.
Using Evernote is a great way for an individual to go paperless or paper-lite.

What a great tip. Thanks for sharing Gary.
No problem Keith.
Doesn’t work for me. Can’t drag evernote to image capture.
Where are you trying to drag the application from? What happens when you try to drag the application?
