Schedule Tweets from Your iPad Calendar

There is no denying that Twitter is a brilliant marketing tool. It allows anyone to get followers and spread their message. But keeping on top of your Twitter timeline can sometimes get a bit much and it’s a good idea to have a means tweets throughout the day. You can use the brilliant (and free for limited use) tool Buffer to schedule your tweets however there is also a cool way of connecting you iPad Calendar to Twitter timeline which I’m about to show you.

What you’ll need

First off you’ll need a Google account which is connected to you calendar. Connecting your Calendar with Google Calendar is pretty straight forward. Follow this tutorial and then test that it is working by creating an event and then checking online.

Next up you will need an IFTTT account. If you haven’t got one already sign up.

You’ll also need a Twitter account that will receive your messages. Again if you haven’t got one set up do so now.

To use the recipe you need to activate both Google and Twitter channels so that IFTTT can talk directly to them.

What this recipe does is take the title of your event and convert it into a tweet. You need to remember that your tweets need to be less than 140 characters long so it’s a good idea to convert any URLs using a service like Bitly.com.

Because you now have your iPad calendar connected to Google Calendar and your Google Calendar connected to Twitter using IFFT whatever you put in you iPad calendar appears on your timeline. How cool is that!
