A simple Nexus 7 3G solution

Google Nexus 7 and MIFI for 3G

No 3G On Nexus 7 – No Worries

If you have a Google Nexus 7 you may have found that it is so useful on the go that you may wish it had 3G. There currently is no 3G option and probably wont be one for the foreseeable future. Not to worry though. If you find yourself in this predicament I suggest you shop around for the following list:

  • Google Nexus 7 (obviously)
  • MIFI which has built in battery and can charge over USB
  • OTG (On The Go) Cable

The MIFI is a wireless router which your Nexus can connect to wirelessly. It doesn’t need to be plugged into the tablet to function but battery life can be a problem. With around only an hour and a half you’ll probably find yourself in a situation with no power and no internet. Therefore if you get hold of an OTG Cable the MIFI can use the Nexus 7 battery to keep itself topped up.

This solution should work for other Android based tablets as long as they have a port which will power a USB device.
