I’ve decided that it is finally time to go paperless over the next few weeks so that once January comes around it can be a New Years resolution.
I’m almost there already but I’m hoping that with some more focused attention I can improve my work flow so that 2013 can be my first paper free year.
Here is my paperless toolkit:
This a a pretty bog standard Canon affair. I’ll be using this to digitise incoming paper, allowing me to file key documents and recycle the vast majority of none essential. This will tackle both work and personal correspondence so I will need to create a process for storing content in the appropriate place.
This is where I plan to store and organise my incoming paper. I’ve been using this for a few years now as my main note taking and general second brain so it will be good to get more use out of my Premium subscription. If this happens to be a new bit of software to you (where have you been?) then I’d recommend that you head on over to the website and start using the free version as the limitations are quite generous and the free version is incredibly powerful.
Local Storage
A copy of all scanned documents will also be copied onto my NAS / local storage – this is purely for backup purposes.
For retrieving and organising my Evernote note books. The iPad is my main input device used during meetings with folk. I also keep work related photos in Notebooks as I find them easier to retrieve when I need one.
If you have gone paperless or have some top tips then please get in touch and share your experiences.
